South Butler cancels after-school activities because of bomb threat
JEFFERSON TWP — South Butler School District is canceling all afterschool activities on campus following a bomb threat at the Knoch High School/Middle School building over the weekend.
While increased security measures were used today to open school on time, after-school activities will be canceled “to allow law enforcement unfettered access to conduct an additional K9 search while buildings are vacant,” as stated in an e-mail sent to parents in the district late this morning. Games and activities taking place off campus will continue as scheduled.
District officials said in an e-mail that they have complied with all law enforcement recommendations and continue to believe that the school campus is secure and remains safe for all students and staff.
