Raymond Lee Slack

Raymond Lee Slack, 88, of Eldorado passed away Monday evening at his daughter's home in Yorktown, Va.

Born on Jan. 14, 1927, in Scioito Furnance, Ohio, he was the son of the late Ellis and Flora Slack.

He was married to Catherine Slack, who survives, for 66 years.

Raymond cherished his family and often spoke of his grandchildren.

He loved to hunt, woodwork and farm.

He was a heavy equipment operator and operated bulldozer and draglines, where he stripped coal until his retirement.

He is survived by his two children, his daughter, Nancy and her husband, Willis Scott, of Yorktown, Va., and his son, Raymond Slack Jr. and his wife, Mary Ann, of Akron, Ohio, and his five grandchildren, Christina (Marcelo) Cabrera, Meghan Scott, Samantha Scott, Christopher Rivas and Jennifer Rivas.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers, Arthur and Joseph Slack, and his five sisters, Cora Jackson, Marietta Rawlins, Alice Weaver, Ivy Merriman and Ethel Seaman.

Slack — The friends of Raymond Lee Slack, who passed away Monday, March 2, 2015, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home, 201 S. Wayne Ave., Parker.A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church in Emlenton with the Father William Barron officiating.
