Dorothy Woodworth

Dorothy Woodworth, 86, of Palatka, Fla., passed away Thursday at the Putnam Community Medical Center in Palatka following an extended illness.

She was born in Conneaut, Ohio, and had been a resident of Palatka for the past 18 years, coming from Mars.

She was a graduate of the Conneaut High School in Conneaut, Ohio.

During her working years, she worked with the elderly as a nurse's aide.

While living in Mars, she volunteered her time with the Middlesex Volunteer Fire Department. She had been active in the Pennsylvania Democrat Club in Middlesex. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her husband and family, and especially with her grandchildren. She loved to read and passed that love of reading to her grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Thomas and Inez Perkio; one brother, Richard Perkio; and one great-granddaughter, Vylah Matheny.

Surviving are her husband of 64 years, George Woodworth of Palatka, Fla.; one son, Jeffrey Woodworth of Bostwick, Fla.; one daughter and son-in-law, Jill and Dr. Jack Matheny of Palatka, Fla.; one sister, Donna DeMarco of Conneaut, Ohio; four grandchildren, Sean (Melissa) Matheny, Adam Matheny, Brent Matheny and Zach (Valeria) Woodworth; two great-grandchildren, Paisley Jean Woodworth and Ember Rene' Matheny; and several nieces and nephews.

WOODWORTH — Funeral services for Dorothy Woodworth, who died Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015, will be at 11 a.m. Sunday at the Masters Funeral Home in Palatka, Fla., with the Rev. Bill German officiating. The family will begin receiving friends at 10 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home. In honor and celebration of Mrs. Woodworth's life, a video tribute will be shown. Burial will follow in Palatka Memorial Gardens.Friends may sign the online guest book at www.themastersfuneralhomes.com.
