Margaret Joan 'Peg' Leise

Margaret Joan “Peg” Leise, 84, of Portersville passed away Monday evening in the Evergreen Nursing Center, Harmony.

Born on Dec. 18, 1930, in Butler, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Nora McLaughlin Moniot.

Peg was an active member of St. Christopher at the Lake Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Ladies Guild.

She was a 1949 graduate of the Slippery Rock School District.

Peg enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and going to bluegrass music festivals. She will be remembered for her delicious baking and cooking.

She is survived by her husband, Leroy H. Leise, whom she married on Sept. 15, 1956, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Slippery Rock; her six sons and their spouses, Thomas (Lucia) Leise of Lisbon, Conn., Timothy (Chrissy) Leise of Prospect, Scott (Jamie) Leise of Slippery Rock, James Leise of Slippery Rock, Dennis Leise of Brookfield, Ill., and Daryl Leise of Portersville; her four daughters and their spouses, Susan (James) Kradel of Butler, Patricia (Anthony) Kiefer of Portersville, Janet Leise of Prospect, and Teresa (Karl) Portner of Franklinton, N.C.; her 16 grandchildren; her two great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters and six brothers.

In appreciation, the family would like to thank the staff at the Evergreen Nursing Center for the excellent care they gave Mrs. Leise.

Leise — Visitation for Margaret Joan “Peg” Leise, who passed away Monday, Feb. 23, 2015, will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Edward L. Raisley Funeral Home, 387 Main St., Prospect.The funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Christopher at the Lake Catholic Church with Father Joseph Feltz officiating. Entombment will follow in the Greenlawn Burial Estates, Butler.Memorial contributions may be made to St. Christopher at the Lake Church, 232 N.
