Eleanor E. Bukowski
Eleanor E. Bukowski, 92, formerly of 339 E. Maitland Lane, New Castle, passed away Wednesday morning at Golden Hill Nursing Home in New Castle.
Eleanor was born March 22, 1922, in Grove City. She was the daughter of the late Eli and Gladys M. Bixler Danoff.
She married the late Thaddeus Bukowski. They were married for more than 66 wonderful years. He preceded her in death Oct. 3, 2009.
She was Roman Catholic and a member of St. Camillus Parish in New Castle.
Following high school, Mrs. Bukowski continued her education at Slippery Rock University, earning her bachelor's degree in education.
Mrs. Bukowski retired after more than 27 years of service as an elementary teacher in the Neshannock School District.
Eleanor was a member of the Polka Dots Club and an avid reader. She was a former member of S.S. Philip and James Church in New Castle. Mrs. Bukowski truly loved to teach; she also taught Sunday school at St. Camillus Parish and worked with Meals on Wheels.
Eleanor is survived by two children, Jeffrey A. (Janice) Bukowski and Elizabeth Bukowski, both of New Castle, and two grandchildren, Luke (Sarah) Bukowski of Sharpsville and Jessica Bukowski of New Castle.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Thaddeus, Eleanor was preceded in death by her son, Thaddeus Bukowski Jr.; her sister, Gladys DeGregorio; and two brothers, Clyde Danoff and Eli Danoff Jr.
Bukowski — Calling hours for Eleanor E. Bukowski, who passed away Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2015, are 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Noga Funeral Home, 1142 S. Mill St., New Castle.The family is asking everyone to meet them at St. Camillus Parish in New Castle, where a Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday with the Rev.
