Pyrotecnico

This year's PyroFest will expand to a two-day event, May 22 and 23, at Cooper's Lake Campground.

Western Pennsylvanians love fireworks, and America’s largest fireworks festival is changing venues in 2015.

Pyrotecnico announced this year that the 4th annual PyroFest will expand to a two-day event that will be held May 22 and 23 on Memorial Day weekend at Cooper’s Lake Campground near Slippery Rock.

“The new venue offers many exciting opportunities to grow PyroFest into an even bigger event,” said Stephen Vitale, president and CEO of Pyrotecnico.

“The addition of another day and the larger venue that can accommodate more spectators and on-site parking is very appealing to us as we look to make PyroFest an even more spectacular event.

“The larger space will enable us to add more displays and incorporate additional structures that will result in more breathtaking fireworks entertainment.”

PyroFest is an affordable community event to promote and celebrate the international art of pyrotechnics through innovative and unique presentations. Techniques and products from around the globe create both daytime and nighttime pyrotechnic displays, providing a sensory and visual experience.

PyroFest also includes live music, food and a kid’s zone.

Cooper’s Lake Campground is near the intersection of Interstate 79 and Route 422, providing easy access for attendees from all over the region including areas east and south of Pittsburgh, Erie and even eastern Ohio.

Cooper’s Lake Campground successfully hosted the weeklong Pyrotechnics Guild International (PGI) conference in 2013.

“We’re excited to bring amazing fireworks displays back to Butler County,” said Jack Cohen, president of the Butler County Tourism and Convention Bureau. “Cooper’s Lake is a great facility for this type of event, and we look forward to working with Pyrotecnico to promote PyroFest to regional audiences.”

PyroFest displays will include:

• U.S. military salute and national anthem daytime display

• Daytime and colored smoke fireworks

• Pyro UFO launch

• “Fantasy in the Sky” fireworks challenge

• “Voyage Through the Universe”— A Pyrotecnico Production, which is back by popular demand for the second international production

• Direct from Spain world-renowned award winning Ricardo Caballer Ricasa Fireworks Production

• World Premiere of a unique, never before seen Pyrotecnico production
