Carol A. Aque, 76, of Pine Township, Mercer County, formerly of North Haledon, N.J., passed away at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Trinity Living Center in Grove City after a lengthy illness.

She was born in North Haledon, N.J., on May 25, 1938, to Victon Hensel and Ann Siderits Hensel.

She married John “Jack” W. Aque on June 18, 1960; he preceded her in death on Feb. 6, 2015.

Mrs. Aque was a homemaker and a substitute teacher in the Slippery Rock School District for many years. She usually subbed at the middle school.

She was a member of the Tower Presbyterian Church, Grove City, where she was a member of the church choir.

She was a graduate of Hawthorne High School, Hawthorne, N.J., and William Patterson University, Wayne, N.J. She was a past president of a chapter of American Association of University Women (AAUW). She enjoyed spending time with her family and swimming.

She is survived by two children, Joanne Kelsey and her husband, Randy, of Hampstead, Md., and Michael Aque and his wife, Natasha, of Grove City; and six grandchildren, Ilana Kelsey, Malia Kelsey, Terin Kelsey, Elizabeth Aque, John M. Aque and Jalyn Kelsey.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

AQUE — Visitation for Carol A. Aque, who died Thursday, Feb. 19, 2015, will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Cunningham Funeral Home, 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City. Funeral service will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Crestview Memorial Park, Grove City.Memorial donations in Mrs. Aque's memory may be made to the Tower Presbyterian Church, 248 S. Broad St., Grove City, PA 16127.
