Consolidation focus of KC board meeting

KARNS CITY — The Karns City School Board will have a special meeting March 27 to discuss elementary consolidation.

The meeting will be at 6 p.m. in the LGI room in the high school.

Board members and administrators are expected to hear from financial and construction professionals about the feasibility of an elementary consolidation plan.

The meeting was originally scheduled for last week.

Scholarship available

BUTLER TWP — Applications for the Theodore K. Vogeley Memorial Scholarship are available in the Butler Senior High principal’s office.

Applicants must be graduating seniors of Butler who have been accepted at an accredited college, university or community college in a transfer program.

It is a four-year scholarship that covers tuition, fixed fees, room and board and books.

The application deadline is April 15.

Slippery Rock Democrats gather

SLIPPERY ROCK TWP — Slippery Rock Area Democrats will hold its monthly meeting from 7 to 8 p.m. April 8 at Sprucewood Commons Community Center, 104 Spruce Drive. The meeting is open to nonmembers.
