Making cards for troops
A thoughtful HIS Kids Christian preschooler has rallied his school to make cards for the military overseas. Five-year-old Drew Weifenbaugh has a passion for his country and respect for his elders, said his mother Renee Weifenbaugh. He began making cards for soldiers on his own and asked if he could do more. “He wanted to do something nice for the soldiers because they do so much for us,” she said. “I'm so proud of him. It's a proud parent moment.” Students at the school as well as children at Butler YMCA Early Care, which is in the same building, are making cards throughout the week to be mailed through the Pittsburgh nonprofit Operation Troop Appreciation.
