GOP Committee official announces run for register
A Butler County GOP leader is the fourth candidate for county register of wills/clerk of orphans’ court.
Robin Redding, 46, of Cranberry Township, who is the vice chair of the county Republican Committee, is seeking the nomination for the post in the May 19 primary.
Redding, a self-employed businesswoman in sales and marketing, said her experience, including 20 years in the private sector, makes her qualified for the post.
She would bring a customer-oriented focus to the dual row office.
“I believe that’s very important,” Redding said.
As part of that focus, Redding would add evening hours to the office.
She wants to make everyone’s experience with the office a positive one.
Redding said she would only serve three terms and decline the county pension, health care and cost-of-living increases for elected officials.
“The taxpayers have enough of a burden,” she said. “I don’t want to add to that.”
Redding is the chief executive officer at the 501c3 nonprofit organization American Constitution Union.
She formerly was a research chemist for Unilever and Michigan Molecular Institute and the sales and marketing manager for Technical Solutions Inc. in Butler.
Redding is a state Republican committeewoman and a former board member of the Balanced Heart Healing Center in Wexford.
She has a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Hope College in Michigan and is 1987 graduate of Forest Hills Northern High School in Michigan.
Redding lives in the township with her husband, Kevin. They have three children: Amelia, Jeremy and Audrey.
She joins Margaret Abersold, Sarah Fair Edwards and Eric Gordon in the hunt for the nomination. There are no Democratic candidates for the seat. Incumbent Judy Moser is retiring at the end of the year.
