County commissioner, school candidates file for May primary
Tuesday was the last day for candidates to file for the May 19 primary.
As of 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, these candidates filed petitions with the Butler County Bureau of Elections to run for county commissioner:
Democrats: Kevin Boozel, Dave Johnston, Jerry Johnston and incumbent Jim Eckstein.
Republicans: James E. Butler, Kim Geyer, Jim Keffalas, Mark Lux, Lisa Metcalfe, Bob O’Neill, Leslie Osche, Jeff Smith, Larry Thompson and Justin Trainor.
There are two Republican vacancies since Bill McCarrier and Dale Pinkerton are not seeking re-election.
Candidates also filed for the Butler School Board
Several newcomers and a two incumbents are running for the board.
Board members who filed for re-election are Bill Halle and Don Pringle.
Newcomers who filed are: Suzie Bradrick Hammonds, Jennifer Cummings, Leland Clark, Timmi Longdon and Nina Teff.
Board members Carmen Bianco, Karen Callihan and Jim Keffalas are not running for re-election.
