James W. Hunter

James W. “Bill” Hunter, 81, of Butler died Friday morning at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.

Born May 26, 1933, in Butler, he was a son of the late Kenneth J. Hunter and Helen M. (Cooper) Hunter.

He had worked at the Pullman Standard Car Co. until the plant closed, and also he worked for Super Value in East Butler.

Bill was a member of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Butler, the Butler Basketball Boosters and the Quarterback Club. He was a member of the 1950 Butler High School WPIAL Championship football team and the 1954 Cubs ASA Championship football team.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Surviving are nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his two sisters.

HUNTER — Friends of James W. “Bill” Hunter, who died Friday, Feb. 6, 2015, will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday. Funeral services will then follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.Interment will be in St. Peter's Parish Cemetery.
