Six Butler County bowlers have rolled sanctioned 800-series so far this season, as documented by the Butler County Bowling Association.

Bill Krause Jr. of the Lads and Lassies League has an 825 to lead the county. Brad Buckley of the City League has rolled can 817, Don Clark of the Bon-Aire Monday Nighters an 816.

Kevin Lamka of the Strikes & Spares League has rolled an 814, Sam, Wiley of Iarrapino Muffler an 801 and Don Wolfe of Bon-Aire Monday Nighters an 800.

SRU's Butler earns All-PSAC WestSLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock University senior guard Antonio Butler has been named first team All-PSAC West in men's basketball.The team is selected by vote of the league's coaches.Butler is averaging 16.1 points per game and has scored in double figures in 21 successive games. He is also averaging 6.0 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game.

Rock basketball still 7th in regionSLIPPERY ROCK — The Slippery Rock University men's basketball team (20-10) is still ranked No. 7 in the Atlantic Region.The top eight teams in each region gain berths in the NCAA Division II Tournament. Those pairings and brackets will be announced Sunday.The current rankings do not include this week's PSAC quarterfinal loss at Gannon.

Chambers garners defensive honorsSlippery Rock University senior D'Asia Chambers was named the PSAC West Defensive Player of the year. She was also chosen on the first team for the second straight year.Chambers grabbed 210 rebounds, had 43 steals and 19 blocks.
