Donna Hughes

Donna J. Hughes, 70, of Tallahassee, Fla., formerly of Eau Claire, passed away Wednesday at her home after a lengthy illness.

Born on June 21, 1944, in Grove City, she was the daughter of the late Mary and Grant Devore.

She was Protestant by faith.

Donna was married to the late Earl C. Hughes Sr. on June 28, 1958. He passed away on Jan. 11, 2001.

Donna had a zest for life and enjoyed playing SkipBo whenever she could. She also enjoyed playing bingo and singing Karaoke. When she wasn't playing card games or spending time with her family, she spent countless time shopping at her favorite store, Goodwill.

Donna is survived by her two daughters, Shirley Ealy of Butler and Lacey Mohr of Tallahassee, Fla., with whom Donna lived; her son-in-law, Michael Mohr of Thomasville, Ga.; her son, Paul (Cathy) Hughes of Eau Claire; her brother, Rodney Beighley Myers of Beaver Falls; her two grandsons, Tyler Hughes and Kenny Michael; her special adopted granddaughter, Meghan Stallings, who helped take care of Donna for the last few years in Florida; her three great-grandchildren; as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Donna was preceded in death by her son, Earl Hughes Jr.; her three sisters; and two brothers.

Hughes— The friends of Donna J. Hughes, who passed away Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2015, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home, 201 S. Washington St., Eau Claire.The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
