Devona R. “Ressie” “Snook” Stevens Christie, 93, of Hilliards passed away at 4:10 p.m. Thursday at her residence following a short illness.

Devona was born July 13, 1921, in Boyers. She was the daughter of the late Earl John Stevens and the late Bessie Violet Seaton Stevens.

Devona was a member of the Hilliards Methodist Church. She retired from the dietary department at Butler Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and reading.

Devona is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Donald (Dixie) Jackson of Hooker, Mrs. Bruce (Lana) Toth of Eau Claire and Mrs. Peter (Jody) Campbell of Hilliards; three sons, Sherwell (Terry) Christie of Parker, Howard (Judy) Christie of Butler and Richard (Carol) Christie of Hooker; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Joel (Shirley) Mackay of Butler and Wanda Unverzagt of Hilliards; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Devona was preceded in death by her husband, Howard K. “Monk” Christie, who died Aug. 1, 2007; one sister; three brothers; and four grandchildren.

CHRISTIE — Friends of Devona R. “Ressie” “Snook” Stevens Christie, who died Thursday, Jan. 29, 2015, will be received at the William F. Young Funeral Home, 132 Main St., West Sunbury from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev.
