Martha M. Geibel Berteotti
Martha M. Geibel Berteotti, 87, of Petrolia passed away Tuesday at VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler surrounded by her family.
She was born March 8, 1927, in Fairview Township, Butler County, the daughter of Raymond John and Evelyn Pugh Geibel.
Martha was a lifetime resident of the area and attended Karns City Schools.
She worked as a store clerk at A.I. Morrison Fairlawn Variety Store in Petrolia and later as a store clerk at the Harold Ekas Grocery Store in Karns City.
Martha was an active member of Mater Dolorosa Roman Catholic Church of Chicora and was a former member of St. James Roman Catholic Church in Petrolia.
She belonged to the Petrolia Fire Department Auxiliary and also enjoyed working and playing bingo. Playing cards was another of her favorite hobbies and she made time to bond with her sisters over their weekly games. Martha loved spending time with her family — especially her grandchildren — and her loving and caring nature will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her sons, John Michael Berteotti of Butler and Bernard James Berteotti and his wife, Deborah, of Karns City; her daughters, Cynthia Anne Gregory and her husband, Ronald, and Darlene Berteotti, all of Butler; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; her sister, Gertrude Berteotti of Chicora; her half-brothers, James Geibel and his wife, Rose, of Chester, W.Va., and Earle Dean Geibel and his wife, Tonya, of Karns City; and her half-sisters, Vivian Pennington and her husband, Dale, of West Sunbury and Velma Louise Hosick of Sharon.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, John Berteotti Jr.; her sons, Gregory Alan Berteotti and Eric Paul Berteotti; her daughters, Anna Louise and Jean Elizabeth Berteotti; her brothers, Wendelin, Bernard and Marcus Geibel; her sisters, Mary Ann Clark, Catherine Robinson and Margaret Ace; her stepmother, Leona Coleman Geibel Burns; and her son-in-law, Dennis James Hawk.

Geibel Berteotti, who passed away Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2015, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Bauer-Hillis Funeral Home, 102 Argyle St., Petrolia.A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Mater Dolorosa Roman Catholic Church, 409 N. Main St., Chicora, with the Rev. Richard Thompson as celebrant.
