Bernadette V. Ambrose

Bernadette V. Ambrose, 76, of Butler passed away Monday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born June 18, 1938, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Myrtle Ostrowski Delewski.

She was employed as an administrative assistant for the VA Medical Center in Butler, and she retired following 25 years service.

She was a strong wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed baking, sewing and spending time with her family.

She was a member of Saint Andrew Roman Catholic Church in Butler.

Surviving are her husband, Bernard F. Ambrose, who she married Jan. 7, 1967; three daughters, Mary Ann Ambrose of Lancaster, Rachelle (Richard) Turosinski of York and Julie (Luke) Mihelcic of Pittsburgh; one son, David Ambrose of Washington, D.C.; two grandchildren, Julia Turosinski and Lana Mihelcic; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Michael Ambrose; one brother, Conrad Dewlewski; and two sisters, Sr. Mary Priscilla, FSSJ and Martha Ganzy.

AMBROSE — Friends and family of Bernadette V. Ambrose, who died Monday, Jan. 19, 2015, will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St. in Butler from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday at 11 a.m. at Saint Andrew Roman Catholic Church, 1660 N. Main St. Ext., Butler, with the Rev. Nick Argentieri, pastor, officiating.Interment will follow at Saint Augustine Cemetery, Pittsburgh.
