Eugene 'Gene' George Banchansky

Eugene “Gene” George Banchansky, 75, passed away Wednesday at The Regency Retirement Village in Charlotte, N.C.

He was born on Oct. 4, 1939, in Duquesne, the son of the late George and Mary Banchansky.

He was married for 45 years to the late Marianne Banchansky of Butler.

Gene worked for PPG Industries as a traffic manager for 40 years in Pittsburgh.

Gene was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan and always had a zest for life, enjoying golfing, bowling, chartered casino trips with his wife and friends, and spending a few colder months of the year vacationing on Hilton Head Island in South Carolina.

He is survived by his two sons, Mark Banchansky of Dublin, Ireland, and Brent Banchansky and his wife, Julie, of Charlotte, N.C.; his sister, Delores “Dolly” Village of Bethel Park; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Banyasz of Duquesne.

Banchansky— The friends of Eugene “Gene” George Banchansky, who passed away Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2015, will be received from 3 p.m. to a Mass at 4 p.m. Jan. 23 at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 6828 Old Reid Road, Charlotte, N.C.Arrangements are by the McEwen Funeral Service-Pineville Chapel, Charlotte, N.C.Condolences to the family may be offered at www.mcewenpinevillechapel.com.
