CRANBERRY TWP — Former Pittsburgh Steeler linebacker Jason Gildon is the new head football coach of Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic High school.

His selection was announced this morning at the school.

Gildon, 42, has been an assistant coach at Seneca Valley High School for the past few seasons and is a former Peters Township High School assistant coach.

The Steelers' all-time leader in quarterback sacks with 77, Gildon played for the NFL club from 1994 to 2003, He was a three-time Pro Bowl selection.

Gildon replaces Bob Ravenstahl, who retired following the 2014 season. CWNC was 11-1 under Ravenstahl last season. He was 74-25 in nine seasons at CWNC, posting the program's only WPIAL and PIAA championships in 2013.
