Emerson O. 'Pop' Mason
Emerson O. “Pop” Mason, 84, of Orlando, Fla., passed away Jan. 7.
Born on Feb. 2, 1930, in Broadway, Va., Emerson was the son of the late Roy H. Mason and Edna Wampler.
He is survived by his four children, Richard Mason of New York, R. Scott Mason of Maryland, G. Dennis Mason of Pennsylvania and Jeanne Fravel of Florida; his 13 grandchildren; and his 14 great-grandchildren.
Emerson married his college sweetheart, Marion Miller, at 19, and was happily married for 61 years until her death in 2010.
Emerson worked at Jones & Laughlin Steel for 26 years before moving to Florida in 1984.
Emerson loved fishing, hunting, building puzzles and playing with his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
