Frank Ruman Jr.
Frank Ruman Jr., 57, of Butler Township passed away unexpectedly Sunday at his home.
He was born Nov. 25, 1957, in Natrona Heights, the son of Mary Gavula Ruman of Buffalo Township and the late Frank J. Ruman Sr.
Frank was an employee of the Arc of Butler County for more than 35 years, since July 9, 1979. He took pride in his work and in collecting a paycheck.
Frank also attended the Golden Opportunities Center of Butler on a regular basis and was a member of the Butler County Association for the Blind, having made many friends at both organizations. He belonged to bowling leagues in Leechburg and Butler County over the years and was very fond of the sport.
Frank was a devout Catholic and attended Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament Church, Natrona Heights.
Frank loved spending time with his family and his “extended” family at Vista Drive. He also loved listening to the “oldies,” traveling on more than 150 bus tours initiated by his mother for disabled citizens over the years, watching TV, going to the movies, and eating out. Frank's life was filled with laughter, fun and love. He was the light wherever he went, the friendliest guy in the room, and he was loved by everyone. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his mother, Frank is survived by his sisters, Mary Ann (George E.) Miller Jr. of Butler and Cynthia Ruman of Saxonburg, and his nephews, Michael and Matthew Miller and their spouses, Christine and Kim, of Encino, Calif. Also surviving are his numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
