Phyllis Tait

Phyllis E. “Phil” Tait, 88, of Butler passed away at 12:10 p.m. Tuesday at the Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia.

She was born on Oct. 19, 1926, in Butler to the late Wilber C. Beck and Sarah Pearl Kerr Beck.

Mrs. Tait was a homemaker. She was a former member of the St. Paul’s United Church of Christ.

Mrs. Tait is survived by her two sons, Keith D. Tait and his wife, Vicki, of Chicago, Ill., and Daryl Tait and his wife, Shirley, of Karns City; her daughter, Beth Cox and her fiance, Ted Stahl, of Templeton; her daughter-in-law, Pam Tait of Butler; her eight grandchildren, Chris Tait and his wife, Shelley, Jeff Tait and his wife, Jennifer, Justin Tait and his wife, Christine, Jennica Tait, Jarron Tait and his wife, Lisa, and Cory, Katie and Shane Cox; her nine great-grandchildren; her brother, Robert Beck of Texas; her sister, Lucille Kennedy of Butler; and her numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert R. Tait, who she married on May 4, 1945, and who passed away on July 20, 1981; her son, Kenneth Tait; and her three brothers.

Tait— The friends of Phyllis E. “Phil” Tait, who passed away Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2015, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Dennis L. Krajacic of the Community Alliance Church officiating. Entombment will take place in the Chapel of All Faiths Mausoleum at Greenlawn Burial Estates.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the donor's favorite charity.Online condolences can be given at www.thompson-miller.com.
