Virginia A. Hawk Lemmon

Virginia A. Hawk Lemmon, 85, of Lyndora, Butler County, passed away late Saturday afternoon at the Clarview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center at Sligo following an illness.

Born on Oct. 10, 1929, in Wildcat, Clarion County, she was daughter of the late Harold and Nellie Walter Mortimer.

She was a Protestant.

Virginia enjoyed working with silk floral arrangements, and she made and donated many such arrangements to nursing home residents.

She was also an avid bingo player.

Surviving are her daughter and her husband, Rosalie and Alan Bliss of Rimersburg; her son and his wife, Robert “Bob” and Carol Hawk of Parker; her nine grandchildren; her 10 great-grandchildren; her three great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Ruth Ross of Oil City; her brother, Roger Mortimer of New York state, and her nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Lemmon, who passed away in 1992; her daughter, Sandra Hawk Stitt; her daughter and son-in-law, Victoria “Judy” and Ernest Campbell; her four brothers, Joel, Paul, David, and Gerald Mortimer, and her sister-in-law, Marie Mortimer.
