Prep basketball game ends with 2-0 score
BROOKWOOD, Ala. — It’s not unusual for a high school basketball team to score on its first possession of a game.
But what if those are the only points scored all game?
The Tuscaloosa News reports Bibb County defeated Brookwood 2-0 on Saturday in a game with the only score coming in the opening 15 seconds.
After a couple of passes, Bibb County’s Brandon Rutledge scored after rebounding a missed 3-pointer.
The newspaper reports the National Federation of State High School Associations says two North Carolina high schools played a 2-0 game in 1977.
Ron Ingram of the Alabama High School Athletic Association hadn’t found any games in the state where both teams failed to reach double digits in points.
