Nancy Merriman-Koegler

Nancy Merriman-Koegler, 65, of Mars, formerly of Cranberry Township, passed away Sunday morning at UPMC Passavant Hospital, McCandless Township.

Born on Sept. 28, 1949, in Glenfield, she was the daughter of the late Sylvester and Mary Louise Knecht Merriman. She was the foster daughter of the late Paul and Lois Koegler.

Nancy was a secretary for the Pine-Richland School District at both the high and middle schools.

She enjoyed bingo, casinos and crossword puzzles and had been a member of the Plains Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are her four sisters, Phyllis Falcona of Ross Township, Norma Fisher of Arizona, Carol “Midge” Ganster of Freedom and Eunice “Charlie” Guenther of Mars; her five brothers, William Merriman (Betty) of Franklin Park, James Merriman (Twila) of Carlisle, Robert Merriman (Linda) of Florida, Joseph Merriman (Kathy) of Cranberry Township and David Merriman of Mars; and her many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and foster parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Janet Smith, and her brother, Russell Merriman.

Merriman-Koegler — The friends of Nancy Merriman-Koegler, who passed away Sunday, Jan. 4, 2015, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at theMcDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars.Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Rev. Deborah Mentel officiating.
