John F. Alexia Jr.

John F. Alexia Jr., 86, of Gibsonia passed away Thursday at his home.

Born July 7, 1928, in Butler, he was the son of the late John F. Alexia Sr. and Clara B. (Baldauf) Alexia Jones.

John worked as a pressman for Iron City Printing until it went out of business. He then went to work for Ralph McKnight Trucking.

John was a Catholic. He enjoyed watching John Wayne movies and tinkering on his cars.

Surviving are his loving children, Mrs. Robert (Jeanne) Dickison of Butler, Kimberly L. Alexia of Gibsonia, Andrew W. Alexia of Butler and Shirlee Maxwell of Gibsonia; 20 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild with two on the way; his sisters, Mary Augusta of Seton Hill, Shirley Hollifield of Valencia and Nancy Monos of Bairdsford; and his brother, Eugene Jones of West View.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two sons, John Alexia and David Alexia; one daughter, Teresa Alexia Smyth; and his wife, Shirley Alexia Oslin.

ALEXIA — Visitation and services for John F. Alexia Jr., who died Thursday, Jan. 1, 2015, will be private. Interment will be in Allegheny County Memorial Park, Allison Park.The Fox Funeral Home, Saxonburg, is assisting the family with arrangements.
