Tom Wolf takes office as state's 47th governor
HARRISBURG — Democrat Tom Wolf is now Pennsylvania’s 47th governor, replacing GOP Gov. Tom Corbett.
He was sworn in early this afternoon.
The 65-year-old Wolf was the only Democrat nationally to unseat a sitting Republican governor in the Nov. 4 election. He defeated with 55 percent of the vote.
State Sen. Mike Stack of Philadelphia took his oath as lieutenant governor earlier in a Senate ceremony.
Security was tight as state troopers and Capitol police monitored the inauguration site.
