Sarah Margaret 'Sally' Masters

Sarah Margaret “Sally” Masters, 85, of Butler passed away Thursday at her home after an extended illness.

She was born on Dec. 31, 1928, in Butler, to the late Clifford T. Dumbaugh and Pearl Youkers Dumbaugh.

Sally was a member of Grace at Calvary Lutheran Church, Butler.

She was a 1946 graduate of Butler Area Senior High School. She worked as a secretary for C.T. Dumbaugh Company before her marriage, then was a homemaker.

She was a member of GFWC Junior Women's Club of Butler and a Deaconess at Calvary Evangelical Presbyterian Church. Sally enjoyed entertaining, cooking and attending bridge club.

She is survived by her husband, Robert R. Masters, who she married on Feb. 18, 1954; her two daughters, Hollie Stevenson and her husband, Bryan, and Marcia Holl and her husband, David, both of Butler; her three grandchildren, Clare Stevenson, Maggie Holl and Adam Holl; her two sisters, Phyllis Diehl and Nancy Farinelli, both of Butler; and her numerous nieces and nephews.

The family appreciates the love and support from Sally's caregivers, Maxine Lane, Lori Riverea, Kirby Naidus and Penny Smith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Marie Russin.

Masters — The friends of Sarah Margaret “Sally” Masters, who passed away Thursday, Dec. 4, 2014, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.Additional visitation will be from 10 a.m. to funeral services at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Pastor Beverly Banyay of Grace@Calvary Lutheran and retired minister Reverend Alan Moran officiating. Entombment will take place in the Greenlawn Burial Estates.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations should be made to the Patrick Rodgers family whose house was destroyed by fire on Dec. 2, 2014.
