Evelyn M. Rea

Evelyn M. Rea, 77, of Clintonville passed away Wednesday at home following an extended illness.

Born Jan. 31, 1937, in Scrubgrass Township, Venango County, she was the daughter of Clarence Burk and Leota Eddinger Burk.

Evelyn graduated from Emlenton High School.

Evelyn was first married to John S. “Jack” Stotler on June 24, 1961, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 22, 1998. Evelyn then married George Rea on July 6, 2003, and he survives.

Evelyn loved to help children; this was evident throughout her career at Franklin School District as a teachers' aid. She always made time for her grandchildren and loved to see them come through the door. Having a day out shopping to Bon Ton with her sister was always a fun pastime. She and George enjoyed going to dinner, especially after Evelyn got her hair done. Evelyn was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Parker City Chapter No. 60. She attended many Eastern Star conventions and was past Worthy Matron three times. She also was a member of the Union Presbyterian Church in Clintonville.

Evelyn is survived by her husband, George, of Clintonville; her children, Jim Stotler of North Carolina, Jennifer Keyser and her husband, Don, of North Carolina and Gerry Rea and his wife, Lynn, of Harrisville; her brothers, Richard Burk and his wife, Gloria, of Clintonville and William “Bill” Burk and his wife, Ellie, of New Castle; her sister, Mary Scott and her husband, Glen, of Bullion; and her grandchildren, John Keyser of North Carolina, Grant Rea and his wife, Lacie, Bradyen Rea, Noelle Rea, Chris Chiu, Abbi Chiu, Ryan Chiu and Lorraine Chiu, all of Clintonville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, John S. Stotler; and one stepdaughter, Gina Chiu.

REA — The family of Evelyn M. Rea, who died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2014, will receive friends at the Larry E. McKinley Funeral Home, 109 Emlenton St., Clintonville, today from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.Funeral service will take place at Union Presbyterian Church, 409 Church St., Clintonville on Saturday at 11 a.m. with an hour of visitation before the funeral. The Rev. Anthony Catullo and the Rev. Kenneth Hughes will officiate.Interment will take place at the Clintonville Methodist Cemetery on Saturday.The family suggests memorial be donations be made to the Order of Eastern Star, Parker City Chapter number 60 in care of Betty J.
