AG Kathleen Kane files for divorce

SCRANTON — State Attorney General Kathleen Kane, who has already endured a tough year professionally, has filed for divorce after 14 years of marriage, saying her union is irretrievably broken.

The complaint was filed Friday in family court in Lackawanna County, where Kane has lived in Clarks Summit with husband Christopher Kane and their two sons.

“This is a private matter that the attorney general has been enduring,” Kane spokesman Renee Martin wrote in an e-mail to The Associated Press. “She asks that the media respect the family’s privacy.”
