Jane A. Moses

Jane Moses

Jane A. Moses, 84, of Butler passed away peacefully Saturday afternoon in the comfort of her home, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on April 16, 1930, in Butler, she was a daughter of the late Eugene and Sarah McClelland.

She was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church and the St. Paul's Ladies Guild, and she had also been a Eucharistic Minister.

After graduating from high school in 1948, she went to work for Dr. Flemming, assisting in the office and with patient care.

She married Merril Moses on July 19, 1952, and shared the rest of her life with him, raising six children. She was always there for her husband, Merril, as he grew his jewelry business, often helping behind the scenes with her young children in tow.

Merril and Jane shared a life-long love of dancing, with the jitterbug being their favorite. Even late in life, they could always be seen on the dance floor at wedding celebrations.

For Jane, her children were her life. She remained a devoted, fun-loving mother, always taking an interest in the activities of her children and eventually her nine grandchildren. “Ma Jane” as they all called her was always up for playing outside, was an avid cheering fan at whatever sport she was watching and attended as many recitals and activities as she could.

Everyone who knew Jane knew of her resilient spirit and strong Christian faith, which helped her through life's adversities. She treasured the close friendship of lifelong girlfriends and always looked forward to spending time with them. She had boundless energy and loved big family gatherings. Jane enjoyed walking and exercising, and she and her twin enjoyed being in the Drum and Bugle Corps.
