Jacqueline McIntyre

Jacqueline Matthews McIntyre, 89, of Butler passed into the Lord's arms Sunday morning at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Butler.

Born on June 29, 1925, in Timmonsville, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Joseph David and Winnie Langston Matthews.

She graduated from Winthrop University in South Carolina. She was a substitute teacher and taught sewing and tailoring to adults in the evening classes in the Butler School District. She was also a microwave demonstrator and taught many classes in the area.

She married the late Harry R. Mcintyre in February of 1947 and moved to Pennsylvania.

She was a member of the Trinity Presbyterian Church, serving as a deacon and Sunday School superintendent. She belonged to several home economics organizations.

“Miss Jackie” had a kind heart and a generous spirit. She loved everything about the South. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, reading, and talking with her friends.

She is survived by her daughter, Ellen Marie McIntyre of Butler, her Southern family and a large circle of friends.

McIntyre — The friends of Jacqueline Matthews McIntyre, who passed away Sunday, Nov. 23, 2014, will be received from 10:30 a.m. until services at noon Wednesday at theGeibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler. Interment will be in Butler County Memorial Park.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Butler Area Public Library, 218 N.
