Time seems to be flying faster than your reindeer these days.

Anyway, ‘tis the season once again, so if you can fill this Christmas list for me, I’d be much obliged.

To University of Pittsburgh: A football coach without any immediate travel plans.

To the Pittsburgh Steelers: Time to be home for the holidays — and the playoffs.

To George Mihalik, Slippery Rock University football coach: Space in his memory bank for the entire day and night of Nov. 15. I’m sure you’ve taken care of that one.

To Mike Kilroy and Kevin Zitzman of the Butler Eagle: A winning season for the Buffalo Bills. Save the playoffs for another year, Santa. They must remain humbled.

To good friend Jarron Sherman: A Florida State football loss. This guy really needs to be humbled.

To my wife, Darlene: The NBA package on Direct TV. I know she wants it.

To Matt Clement, Butler boys basketball coach: Just have the 2014-15 season finish the way it started. He’ll be happy.

To Jim Smith of the Butler Eagle: Some patience and understanding for first-year University of Texas football coach Charlie Strong. The Longhorns are in a bowl game (sort of), what more does he want?

To the Pittsburgh Penguins: Health.

To Pittsburgh Pirate Pedro Alvarez: Directions to first base — for himself, since his throws always seemed to get lost.

To Pirate fans seated behind first base: Money. They’ll have to buy their souvenir baseballs now.

To the Washington Redskins: A new nickname. Get it over with, already.

To Josh Rizzo of the Butler Eagle: A doggie calender all his own.

To Derek Pyda of the Butler Eagle: A fresh, current and accurate edition of the song, “Pittsburgh’s goin’ to the Super Bowl ...”

To Pete Rose and Barry Bonds: Berths in the Baseball Hall of Fame. Forgiveness is part of the Christmas season, isn’t it, Santa?

To Brian Minto, Butler professional boxer: One more shot.

To the California (Pa.) University football team: Multiple copies of Jailhouse Rock. I hear it may become their new fight song.

To Jim Harbaugh, prospective Michigan football coach: A book entitled, “Yes, You Can Go Home Again.” And take your brother with you, please.

To Roger Goodell, NFL commissioner: A history lesson about Watergate. Never mind, they screwed up back then, too.

To retiring MLB commissioner Bud Selig: A season ticket to every big league ballpark so he can watch the game, not mess it up, er, I mean, tinker with it.

To Rob Densmore, Butler football coach: The steadiness to stay the course.

To the Butler school board: The patience and wisdom to allow him to do so.

To sports fans everywhere: The ability to watch the game, a light-hearted attitude to enjoy the game and the good sense to know it’s just a game.
