Burton Franklin Kelly, 77, of Slippery Rock passed away peacefully at his residence Friday morning.

Born in Karns City April 18, 1937, he was a son of the late Burton W. and Grace L. Miller Kelly.

He was a graduate of Grove City High School.

Burton worked for many years at Pullman Standard until it closed, and then he worked at Trinity until his retirement. He also worked as a deputy for the Pennsylvania Game Commission for 25 years.

He was a charter member of the Moraine Sportsman Club and a member of the Boyers Sportsman Club.

Burton enjoyed hunting, fishing, the outdoors and helping young people. He was a dedicated volunteer with Little League, midget football, youth field day and hunters trapper education.

He was a member of Harrisville United Methodist Church.

On June 21, 1957, he married the former Nevada Hall at Slippery Rock United Methodist Church, and she survives.

Also surviving are three children, Burton F. Kelly II and his wife, Lory, of Slippery Rock, Deborah Croup and her husband, John, of New Castle and Kim D. Kelly and his wife, Laurie, of Prospect; and five grandchildren, Matthew Croup, Sarah Croup, Tiffany Kelly, Burton Kelly and Timmy Kelly.

Additionally surviving are two sisters, Esther Mravec and her husband, George, of Elkhart, Ind., and Virginia Miller of Transfer; and two brothers, Donald Kelly and his wife, Barb, of Slippery Rock and Clair Kelly and his wife, Joyce, of Elkhart, Ind.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Kelly, and also an infant brother.

KELLY — Family and friends of Burton Franklin Kelly, who died Friday, Nov. 14, 2014, are welcome from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Jamison Funeral Home, 117 N. Main St., Harrisville.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Harrisville United Methodist Church, 301 S. Main St., Harrisville, with the Rev. Jeffrey Canter, church pastor, officiating.
