Margaret A. Beck
Margaret A. Beck, 82, of Slippery Rock, formerly of Pittsburgh, passed away peacefully Sunday at Concordia's Good Samaritan Hospice with her family by her side.
Born on Jan. 7, 1932, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Anna Sarah Dietz Lindner.
She belonged to the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Allentown, where she enjoyed singing in the choir.
She retired in 1995, as owner of the Windmill Deli on Carson Street in the South Side of Pittsburgh.
She will be remembered for her cooking and baking. She loved doing volunteer work to help others. She enjoyed collecting cookbooks and playing “Words With Friends” on her iPad.
She is survived by her children, Cathleen Beck of Gilbert, Ariz., Elaine (Donald) Stumpf of Finleyville, Arlene Beck-Waters of South Park, and Connie (Bryon) Schmidt of Slippery Rock; her six grandchildren, Michael John Zilles, Jody Cherevka, Jamie Davis, Kathryn Schmidt, Hannah Schmidt, and Sarah Schmidt; her six great-grandchildren; her sister, Shirley Cassedy of Taylorstown, and her numerous nieces and nephews.
