Jean Carol 'Jeannie' Henry Morris

Jean Carol “Jeannie” Henry Morris, 63, of Grove City, Liberty Township, Mercer County, passed away Saturday at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, following a six-week illness.

She was born on March 13, 1951, in Butler to the late Troy Montgomery Henry and Grace Edna Shearer Henry.

She graduated from Butler High School in 1969 and from the North Hills Passavant Hospital as a licensed practical nurse in 1970.

She married William Warren Morris on June 8, 1990.

She was a member of the North Liberty Presbyterian Church, where she sang in the choir and enjoyed assisting in Bible School, helping with the Liberty Lambs and serving as a trustee.

She practiced nursing from 1970 until 1995. She was presently employed at Net Concepts at the Underground Mine in Boyers, working as a mail clerk.

She enjoyed crafts, bowling, camping and fishing. She loved animals.

In 1985, Jeannie was named “Outstanding Woman of the Year” by the Grove City Jaycees and had worked with the Pennsylvania Jaycees at both the district and state level.

She is survived by her husband, William “Bill” Morris of Grove City; her stepson, William Macey Morris of Slippery Rock; her stepdaughter, Machelle Irene Gardner of Parker; her sister, Nancy M. Terwilliger of Butler; her three brothers, LeRoy T. Henry and his wife, Helen, of Butler, Russell H. Henry and his wife, Virginia, of Renfrew and Eugene C. Henry and his wife, Carol, of Butler; her four stepgrandchildren, Louis Graydon “Grady” Morris, Sarah Morris, Erica Jack and Emily Gardner; and her two step-great-grandchildren, Hannah Jack and Elizabeth Morris.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepmother, Edna A. Hesselgesser Hogg Henry, and her nephew, Dennis R. Terwilliger.

Morris — A memorial service for Jean Carol “Jeannie” Henry Morris, who passed away Saturday, Nov. 1, 2014, will be observed at 11 a.m. Thursday at the North Liberty Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Willard Morse of the North Liberty Presbyterian Church presiding.Memorial contributions may be given to the North Liberty Presbyterian Church (for the Youth Group Mission Fund) at 209 N. Liberty-Plain Grove Road, Grove City, PA 16127.Arrangements are by the Smith Funeral Home, Slippery Rock.
