JEFFERSON TWP — The family of six whose Saxonburg Road house was destroyed by a fire Tuesday night is getting help.

An account that began this morning has raised more than $7,000 for the family.

Patrick and Milissa Rodgers, along with their four children, were forced from their home at around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday after Patrick noticed smoke coming from the bathroom.

About 35 firefighters worked to put the fire out. It took an hour before the flames were under control.

The family lost its two dogs and four cats in the fire. The family is staying with relatives.
