John 'Jack' Cardenas
John “Jack” Cardenas, 71, of Boyers passed away at 11:22 a.m. Monday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice, Butler.
He was born on Aug. 20, 1943, in Pittsburgh to the late Natividad Cardenas and Mary J. Costantino Cardenas.
Mr. Cardenas worked as a janitor at the Slippery Rock Area Middle School for several years, then worked as a road worker for PennDOT out of Pittsburgh.
He was a big collector of Lionel trains and loved collecting frogs. He enjoyed grass cutting and lawn care.
Mr. Cardenas was a Catholic.
Mr. Cardenas is survived by his wife, Marie N. Mozuch Cardenas, who he married on Dec. 28, 1988; his two sons, John A. Cardenas of Pittsburgh and John W. Cardenas of Boyers; his two daughters, Tiffany M. Cardenas and Tammy L. Cardenas, both of South Carolina; his seven grandchildren; and his brother, Anthony Cardenas.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Shawn P. Cardenas, and his sister, Anita Cardenas.
Cardenas — There will be no public visitation for John “Jack” Cardenas, who passed away Monday, Oct. 27, 2014.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 12:30 p.m. Friday at the St. Louis Church, 202 W. State St., West Sunbury, with the Father James Bedillion of St. Alphonsus Parish officiating.Arrangements are by theThompson-Miller Funeral Home, Butler.
