PITTSBURGH — Authorities say an elderly driver struck and killed pregnant woman, whose baby was later delivered by cesarean section.

The nearly full-term child remained in critical condition Wednesday.

Police say Jodie Guthrie, 30, was sitting outside a North Side store Wednesday when a man tried to pull into a parking space. The vehicle jumped the curb and pinned Guthrie against a wall. Police say the 88-year-old motorist might have hit the gas instead of the brake.
