Robert L. O'Donnell, 69, of Oakland Township, Chicora, passed away unexpectedly Friday morning.

He was born on Feb. 3, 1945, in Butler, a son of the late Joseph E. and Mary Elizabeth Hesidence O'Donnell.

Bob was a graduate of Butler High School and a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during the Vietnam War aboard the submarine U.S.S. Swordfish.

He was retired as the business manager for Local 323 of the Laborers Union that covers Butler and Venango counties.

He was a member of the St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church, Carbon Center, and the American Legion Post 117 in Butler. An avid outdoor sportsman, Bob enjoyed hunting and fishing and being at his camp in Tionesta, but he most loved spending time with his grandchildren and family.

Surviving are his wife, Dolores “Dolly” Kuhn O'Donnell; his three children, Robert E. O'Donnell and his wife, Marnie, of New Cumberland, Michelle Sullivan of Waxhaw, N.C., and Jennifer Drazick and her husband, Stephen, of Cecil; his six grandchildren, twins Brooks and Blaine Sullivan, Jacob Drazick, twins Ryann and Reagan Drazick, and Emma O'Donnell; his three brothers, Larry (Cathie) O'Donnell and Pat O'Donnell of Butler, and Mike (Jackie) O'Donnell of Lower Burrell; his two sisters, Mary Jo Nebel of Butler and Rose (Jan) Woodward of New Smyrna Beach, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

O'Donnell, who passed away Friday, Oct. 17, 2014.His friends and family are invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church, Carbon Center, 210 St. Wendelin Road, Butler.
