Omar L. Amos Marburger
Omar L. Amos Marburger, 88, of New Castle passed away Saturday afternoon at VA Butler Healthcare.
He was born on July 19, 1926, in Butler and was the son of the late Charles and Mary Goehring Marburger.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Candioto Stamp Marburger, who he married on June 29, 1987.
Mr. Marburger retired from Bilco Manufacturing in Zelienople, where he worked as a machinist.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of the VFW Post 343.
He loved helping others and spent many hours volunteering through mission work and was honored for his volunteer work at the City Rescue Mission. He was a member of Life Lawrence County and a member of Clifton Flats Alliance Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Gary Marburger of Butler; his two daughters, Regina Cole of Salem, Ohio, and Roxane Edwards and her husband, Jim, of Butler; his four stepdaughters, Glenda Law of Pasadena, Texas, Darlene Llamas of Texas, Theresa Frye of Girard, Ohio, and Debbie Smith of New Castle; his 12 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen Jamison Marburger; his four brothers, LeRoy, Herbert, Donald and Orrie Marburger; his sister, Dorothy Tabay, and his two sons-in-law, Clarence Law and Richard Frye.
Marburger — Visitation for Omar L. Amos Marburger, who died Saturday, Oct. 18, 2014, will be from 10 a.m. to the time of services at noon Tuesday at theEd and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home, 941 S. Mill St., New Castle, with the Rev. Jarod Mills of Clifton Flats Alliance Church officiating.
