Michael J. Ostwinch Jr.

Michael J. Ostwinch Jr., 85, of Prospect passed away Wednesday evening at the VNA Inpatient Hospice, Butler.

Born on April 28, 1929, in Butler, he was a son of the late Michael J. Ostwinch Sr. and Mary L. Dollar Ostwinch.

He had worked as a foreman in Stainless Maintenance for the Armco Steel plant in Butler for 40 years, retiring in 1987.

He was a member of The Mount Chestnut United Presbyterian Church, the NRA, the American Legion Post 417 in Prospect, the Prospect Fire Company, and the Tri-State Country Music Association.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, dancing and woodworking.

Surviving are his wife, Rose Marie Oluschak Ostwinch, who he married on April 26, 1953; his son, Larry M. and Sharon Ostwinch of Findlay, Ohio; his daughter, Pamela L. Daughtery of Findlay, Ohio; his sister, Shirley (Robert) Gandy of Gibsonia; his four grandchildren, Lorissa Daughtery, Derek Daughtery, Eric Ostwinch and Casey (Tori) Ostwinch; his great-grandson, Carter Ostwinch; and his numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Harvey Ostwinch.

Ostwinch — There will not be a visitation for Michael J. Ostwinch Jr., who passed away Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2014.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Mount Chestnut United Presbyterian Church, 727 Old Route 422, Butler, with the Rev.
