HARRISBURG — The Pennsylvania Game Commission has announced that 88 elk were taken by hunters during the regular one-week season that ended Nov. 8.
For those licensed to hunt antlered elk, the success rate was 93 percent. The success rate for elk hunters overall in the state was 82 percent.
Robert Baker of Worthington harvested the largest bull in terms of rack size. The rack was initially measured at 414 inches, according to Boone & Crockett scoring standards, and the bull weighed an estimated 851 pounds.
ERIE — A-C Valley graduate and Penn State Behrend volleyball sophomore Meredith Snyder has been named first team All-Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference.Snyder ranked second on the team with 275 kills and 250 assists while leading the squad with 80 blocks. She is one kill away from the 500 mark for her collegiate career.
LAS VEGAS — Los Angeles Clippers star Blake Griffin is facing a misdemeanor battery charge stemming from a scuffle with a man at a Las Vegas Strip nightclub, according to court records.The 25-year-old Griffin is due for arraignment Dec. 8.
