Irene Ocvirk
Irene Ocvirk, 86, of West Deer Township passed away Monday at Concordia of Fox Chapel.
Mrs. Ocvirk was born on Aug. 17, 1928, in Bairdford, to the late Alexander and Mary Kretchko. She lived her entire life in the West Deer area.
She was a 1946 graduate of West Deer High School.
Irene retired from the U.S. Postal Service with 16 years of service. She also worked alongside her husband at their family business, Fashion Dry Cleaners, in Oakmont and in Gibsonia.
Irene was a very active life member of the St. Michael's Eastern Orthodox Church in Curtisville.
She enjoyed dancing, polka music and cooking.
She is survived by her sons, Robert C. (Debbie) Ocvirk of Butler and Ronald P. (Mary Lynn) Ocvirk of Robinson Township, and her grandchildren, Ashley, Alexandra and Michael Ocvirk.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ocvirk, in 1995, and her sisters, Anna and Helen Buchanich.
Ocvirk— The friends and relatives of Irene Ocvirk, who passed away Monday, Oct. 6, 2014, are invited to visit from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday with Parastas at 7:30 p.m. at the Adam Siemianowski Funeral Home, 179 Starr Road, Russellton.Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the St. Michael's Eastern Orthodox Church, 92 Liberty St., Curtisville, with the Rev. Alexander Poshyvajlo officiating. Mrs. Ocvirk will be laid to rest next to her husband, Charles, in Deer Creek Cemetery, Harmar Township.The family suggests memorials to Alzheimer's Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Ave., 7th Floor, New York, NY 1001.
