Bartramian Audubon Society will host “In the Footsteps of Darwin: Landscapes and Life in Tierra del Fuego and Antarctica” by Dr. Patrick Burkhart of Slippery Rock University at 7 p.m. Monday at Jennings Environmental Center, Route 528, Brady Township. Refreshments will be served. Admission is free.

Succop Nature Park, formerly the Succop Conservancy, 185 W. Airport Road, Penn Township, is open from dawn to dusk, with dog-friendly walking trails, two ponds. E-mail rhandel@aswp.org.

McConnells Mill State Park in Slippery Rock Township, just over the county line into Lawrence County off Route 422, will have its Christmas open house from 1 to 3 p.m. Nov. 15 at the historic gristmill. Visitors can craft homemade Christmas ornaments from natural materials and enjoy a different view of the mill during this season. Note that the mill is not heated. Call 724-368-8811.
