The Butler County commissioners this morning recessed their meeting to cut off Commissioner Jim Eckstein’s speech during public comment.

After Eckstein accused county Children and Youth Services of mishandling a child sexual assault case, Commissioner Bill McCarrier, board chairman, ruled Eckstein out of order.

McCarrier first recessed the meeting for 15 minutes, then again until 2 p.m.

After the meeting recessed, county solicitor Mike English told Eckstein he was leaving the county open to potential litigation. Eckstein disagreed.
