Timothy William Pears

Timothy William Pears, 26, of Chicora passed away Thursday at the Butler Memorial Hospital as a result of a motor vehicle accident.

Born on April 1, 1988, in Jacksonville, N.C., he was the son of Michael Pears and Kimberly Allan, and stepson to Gloria “Xin” Pears and Samuel Allan.

Timmy attended Karns City High School and New Castle School of Trades, where he learned to weld.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and working on cars at the family business, Pears Auto Repair. He also loved taking care of his nieces and nephews and his younger brother, Colton.

Timmy had many skills. He was a mechanic with an inspection license and a pipe fitter, and he could build anything. He was helping his father rebuild a 100-year-old house. He was known for his exceptional welding skills.

Timmy was working recently in Cranberry Township, framing houses. He worked at Camp Lejeune, N.C., replacing underground water pipes at the Marine Corps Base Camp. He also liked doing landscaping, which he did in North Carolina.

Timmy leaves behind his father, Michael Pears and his wife, Gloria “Xin,” of Chicora; his mother, Kimberly Allan and her husband, Samuel, of Wilmington, N.C.; his sister, Laura Goodale and her husband, Nick, who is in the Marine Corps and stationed at Camp Lejeune, N.C.; his older brother, Michael Jr., and older sister, Mindy, both from the Wilkes-Barre area; his younger brother, Colton of Chicora; his three nieces; his three nephews; his grandfather, Merle Pears of Butler; his grandparents, William and Martha Russel of Wilmington, N.C.; his uncle, Merle Pears Jr. of Butler; and a number of other aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mary L. Pears, who passed away on Aug. 16, 2014; his two uncles, Mark L. Pears and Dean Russel; his aunt, Sandy Rieger; and his cousin, Michael Pizor.

Pears — The friends of Timothy William Pears, who passed away Thursday, Sept. 18, 2014, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Pastor Tim Goodman of the First United Methodist Church officiating.
