Floyd E. Huber

Floyd E. Huber, 87, of Cabot passed away at 10:27 p.m. Monday at the Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia, Cabot.

He was born on May 15, 1927, in Brook-ville to the late Harry W. Huber and Mina Burkett Huber.

Mr. Huber was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in World War II.

He worked in the Melt Shop Maintenance Department at Armco Steel, retiring after 40 years of service.

Mr. Huber was a member of the Community Alliance Church and the Armco Veterans Club. He was a former member and director of Butler Armco Association.

Mr. Huber is survived by his wife, Rhoda J. Freehling Huber, who he married on May 12, 1949; his two daughters, Renee Cohn and her husband, Christopher, of Duncanville, and Andrea Smith and her husband, the Rev. Russell, of Binghamton, N.Y.; his two sons, the Rev. Michael R. Huber and his wife, Lynn, of Chicago, Ill., and Matthew G. Huber and his wife, Carla, of Newton, N.C.; his seven grandsons, Jared Cohn and his wife, Dawn, Ian Cohn and his wife, Deanna, Seth and Benjamin Huber, Zachary Smith and his wife, Stephanie, and Ethan and Gabriel Smith; his two step-grandchildren, Ashley Engelmann and her husband, Brett, and Adam Dorsey and his wife, Erin; his two great-granddaughters, Abigail Cohn and Aviva Cohn; his two step-great-grandchildren, Carter and Abigail Engelmann; his two brothers, H. Lewis Huber and his wife, Jean, of Summersville, Ore., and Harold W. Huber and his wife, Ruth, of Tucson, Ariz.; his sister, Margaret Hummel and her husband, Harold, of Rocklin, Calif., and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers, Ralph Huber and Clyde S. Newcome.

Huber— The friends of Floyd E. Huber, who passed away Monday, Sept. 15, 2014, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today at theThompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Community Alliance Church, 800 Mercer Road, Butler, with the Rev. Michael Huber, son of the deceased, the Rev. Russell Smith, son-in-law of the deceased, and the Rev. Dr. Dennis L. Krajacic of the Community Alliance Church officiating. Burial will take place in Greenlawn Burial Estates, Butler.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to the Community Alliance Church, Memorial Fund for Kitchen Equipment, 800 Mercer Road, Butler, PA 16001.Online condolences can be given at www.thompson-miller.com.
