Eileen McCall, 93, of Butler passed away early Wednesday morning at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Butler.

She was born on July 21, 1921, in West Tarentum to the late George L. Wheeler and Marie Lennartz Wheeler, and she moved to Butler at age 2.

She was a graduate of Butler High School and Robert Morris College with a degree in accounting.

Over the years she worked at the Callery Chemical Co., Vic-Nor Farms and Carbo-Jet as a certified public accountant.

Eileen was the race secretary for the Butler Fair harness racing for more than 50 years, beginning in 1951. Through the years she owned and had part ownership in several race horses. She was instrumental in forming the Western Pennsylvania Harness Horsemen's Association in 1961 and the Quaker Stake Circuit in 1964. She was vice president of the Pennsylvania State Showmen's Association and was very active in all organizations.

She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles, poker and bingo.

She is survived by her daughter, Karen Lasky and her husband, Thomas, of Butler; her grandson, James Bandura and his wife, Liz; her granddaughter, Brandyn Brackett and her husband, Danny; and her three great-grandsons, all of Vero Beach, Fla.

McCall— According to her wishes, there will be no public visitation or funeral for Eileen McCall, who passed away Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2014.
