Lawrence Ed 'Sonny' Herold
Lawrence Ed “Sonny” Herold, 92, of Butler passed away at 7:35 a.m. Sunday at the Chicora Medical Center.
He was born on April 14, 1922, in Butler to the late Edward Herold and Hazel A. Youkers Herold.
Sonny was a foreman in the Hot and Cold Mill at Butler Armco, retiring in 1981.
He enjoyed hunting and carpentry.
Sonny was a Methodist.
Sonny is survived by his wife, June L. Herold, who he married on Oct. 16, 1943; his two daughters, Vicky J. Link and her husband, Gary A., of Canton, Ohio, and Trudy Snodgrass and her husband, Mark, of West Sunbury; his son-in-law, Kenneth Armstrong of Slippery Rock; his eight grandchildren; his six great-grandchildren; his brother, Walter Herold and his wife, Sally, of Princeton; his three sisters, Ruth V. Werner of New Galilee, Veva McConnell of New Castle, and Hazel J. Webb and her husband, Wallace, of Butler, and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Ruth A. Armstrong, two sisters and a brother.
Herold— The friends of Lawrence Ed “Sonny” Herold, who passed away Sunday, Sept. 14, 2014, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Chaplain Robert R. Pascoe of Amedisys Hospice officiating.
